Styrian technology company AT&S set a new sales record in the first half of its current fiscal year, breaking a magical barrier.
The group from Leoben has more than one billion euros in turnover in the first six months. It was exactly 1.07 billion euros – compared to 698 million in the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 53 percent.
According to a press release accompanying the current half-year report, growth was supported by all segments of the company. An important driver was the additional capacity at the plant in Chongqing, China.
Profit before tax rises to 315 million
AT&S’ profit before tax (Ebitda) also increased sharply: it achieved 315 million euros, which is about two and a half times as much as in the same period last year, when the profit amounted to 131 million euros.
However, the technology group expects the market environment to be difficult through the end of the fiscal year, meaning revenues are likely to remain below previous expectations of €2.2 billion.
The development is correct
However, the medium-term outlook is promising: “Overall, we are convinced that the major trends in digitization and electrification are still intact. Depending on how the preconditions develop, delays may occur,” says CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer.
AT&S manufactures printed circuit boards for use in mobile devices, industrial electronics, and the automotive and medical technology sectors.
