The group’s turnover, the main gas producer in Spain, almost doubles from January to September
Naturgy posted a net profit of €1,061 million in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 36.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, the company reports.
The gross operating income (Ebitda) of the energy company chaired by Francisco Reynés was EUR 3,502 million in September, up 36.8%, “in an environment of continued high volatility in international energy markets and at a time of high regulatory uncertainty” , the company said.
Compared to the same period in 2021, business growth in Spain generated an EBITDA increase of 407 million, while the global business contributed an additional 535 million.
Naturgy’s results through September include the retroactive effect of the new purchase price agreement reached with Sonatrach last October, as well as the estimated impact of the decoupling of final gas sales prices from their current TTF indexed hedges.
The turnover of the group, the country’s main gas company, shot up 85.5% between January and September to EUR 27,011 million, compared to EUR 14,558 million in the same period in 2021.
The company’s investments increased by 26% to September compared to the same period last year, amounting to 1,119 million euros, with networks and renewable energy representing 80% of total investments.
On the other hand, the board of directors has approved the second 2022 interim dividend of EUR 0.40 per share, payable in cash on November 18, as planned in the group’s 2021-2025 strategic plan.
