The Institute for Demoscopy & Data Analysis (IFDD) had already taken up the subject in March on behalf of the “Krone”. The result, which was quite surprising at the time, was that security of supply of food and drink is more important to Austrians than protection of health or climate. The pollsters repeated the survey after more than half a year of war and galloping inflation.
Conclusion: Concerns about bottlenecks and empty shelves in supermarkets have continued to grow. “Only 16 percent of those surveyed feel that the right decisions have been made in the EU over the past two years when it comes to security of supply,” explains IFDD chief Christoph Haselmayer.
