In the past, the ÖVP did not necessarily have good experiences with the evaluation of mobile phone data, but now the Viennese party hopes for finds on the mayor’s mobile phone.
The background: This Friday, the underground committee for the case of Wien Energie and the generous emergency powers of the city administrator will begin – the ÖVP has now drawn up a list of requests for evidence and they are tough (the “Krone” has the whole list).
“It is the right of the political factions to bring in evidence. These are being checked,” the information from the mayor’s office said.
Example from the requests for evidence:
“Submission of the telephone lists (list of incoming and outgoing calls) of the official mobile phone of Mayor Michael Ludwig from September 1, 2021, which in connection with the exercise of the property rights of the Municipality of Vienna against Wiener Stadtwerke GmbH or Wien Energie GmbH and the related exercise of share management as well as the (…) emergency powers.”
ÖVP also wants e-mails from alderman Hanke
And that’s not all, the ÖVP wants files, documents, documents including e-mails and electronic or analogue diaries. And that also from the Vienna City Councilor for Finance, Peter Hanke. On the witness list: Ludwig, Hanke, Barbara Novak, Rudolf Kaske, Thomas Reindl, Martina Ludwig-Faymann etc. It’s getting exciting.
