Even at Christmas, the production break at Fischer Sports is short. Reason: Delays due to the war in Ukraine mean that not all orders have been delivered. The delays are stressful. Despite the challenges in Ukraine, the people of the Innviertel are not thinking of withdrawing from the country.
Attacks repeatedly cause disruptions to Ukraine’s power and water supply, but production of skis, boots and ice hockey sticks at the Fischer factory in Mukachevo continues almost unimpressed. “The situation is manageable,” says Managing Director Franz Föttinger.
Have the Innviertlers already thought about stopping production, in whose reconstruction after the great fire more than 80 million euros have been invested? “We have experienced it several times, but for us there is no alternative to the factory in Ukraine.”
“Be driven to surrender”
Large numbers of products are manufactured in the war-ravaged country. High-end models of skis, on the other hand, are manufactured in Ried im Innkreis, for example. Due to delays, the production break at Christmas is short: “We are still driven to deliver.”
