It was precisely in times of the energy crisis that Salzburg AG stopped its power saving campaign. However, there was no information for customers in advance.
“You will receive an energy bonus of 150 euros anyway.” With this pithy answer, an employee of Salzburg AG fed an angry “Krone” reader on the phone today. The woman contacted the company. She wanted to know when she could apply for her “free power days” again.
The Salzburg AG campaign has been around for several years. Existing customers can use it for free for a few days a year. “There’s none of that this year,” they said on the phone. There is no information about it,” the Salzburg resident is angry.
Free stream days? Only in the mini version
The “Krone” dug deeper. And yes, there are no “free running days” this year, they said when asked. But: “The contractually agreed three days of free electricity for direct debit and the six days for online communication are still there.”
Salzburg AG also points out that the electricity cost subsidy introduced by the legislator has been available to private households since December 2022. This limits the energy price for 2900 kWh per year to 10 cents net.
