Will Germany be marketing hemp soon? In any case, the traffic light cabinet has this in the coalition agreement. Cannabis legalization there could have far-reaching consequences in Europe, explains Christopher Martens of the Graz-based company Hanfama.
In Puntigam, hemp is grown on a large scale in one of the largest greenhouse production facilities in Europe, up to 200,000 square meters. Hundreds of thousands of (non-intoxicating) CBD products such as oils, sprays or cosmetics containing the extract of the cultivated plants are now sold in about 10,000 stores across Europe. From wholesalers such as DM Germany to small shops, everything is there. Hanfama employs 160 people – many of them in Canada.
