Deal set for 2026 – KTM buys majority of Italo cult brand MV Agusta

Date:

Stefan Pierer’s motorcycle empire is growing with another top brand: After Pierer Mobility already includes Husqvarna and GasGas in addition to KTM, the company, which operates from Mattighofen (Upper Austria), also takes over most of MV Agusta. The deal, which will be completed in 2026, has now been completed.

It started with a sales partnership for North America and in November of the previous year it was announced that 25.1 percent of MV Agusta was owned by the Upper Austrians. Since Tuesday evening it has been clear: KTM AG, a subsidiary of Pierer Mobility, will soon own the majority in the Varese/Italy-based cult brand Italo.

The deal will be completed in the spring of 2026, making entrepreneur Stefan Pierer the owner of the next motorcycle brand. His high-horsepower empire already includes KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas, and from 2026 also MV Agusta.
