PV company bankrupt – major bankruptcy before Christmas: 94 jobs at risk!

Date:

The Carinthian photovoltaic specialist Energetica went bankrupt two years ago. Barely rescued by leading major investors such as Raiffeisen, bankruptcy had to be filed again – with a total amount of 40 million euros! 94 employees are worried about their jobs – and that’s before Christmas.

It was almost exactly two years ago that the PV module manufacturer Energetica in Liebenfels had to go to bankruptcy court after twenty years in the sustainability sector. New investors – including the IRMA Group and Raiffeisen Beteiligungsholding – had to save the company.

Renovation failed
This did not work out, as has been clear since Thursday: a new restructuring process has been initiated – according to credit protectors, Energetica’s own debts amount to 19 million euros, with another 21 million euros being added as a result of the subsequent bankruptcy of the parent company Peak Power Holding. “The question is currently whether the 94 jobs can be saved,” says Beatrix Jernej of the Alpine Creditors Association (AKV), who has bad news for employees.

Although Energetica management emphasizes that investors are interested in investing in Liebenfels, it will probably only be possible for the trustee to clarify whether this is actually the case. According to information from the Credit Protection Association in 1870, the court again appointed lawyer Ferdinand Lanker, who was already responsible for the first restructuring and was able to save the company and its jobs from extinction through a 20 percent restructuring plan: But according to Jernej, this legacy also raises questions. Because: “According to the bankruptcy application, it states that this agreement has been complied with, this cannot be confirmed by the AKV, so the causes of the bankruptcy must first be explained in more detail during the course of the procedure.”
