On the shores of Lake Fuschl – Abramowitsch Villa: land untidy documents

Date:

A staggering sale, countless unanswered questions: Much information is missing about the properties of Russian billionaire Roman Abramowitsch on Lake Fuschl – and now even countless documents from the state of Salzburg…

Misleading idyll on Lake Fuschlsee! The inconsistencies are piling up around the villa of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Important documents about the disputed purchase can no longer be found in the archives of the State of Salzburg.

As a reminder, the oligarch’s property – the so-called “Fisherman’s House” – is located on the southern shore of the lake. The three-part villa includes more than two hectares of forest and almost 6,600 square meters of agricultural land. The ‘Cyprus Confidential’ research project showed last November that the property came into the possession of the Abramovich family through a shell company and a British trustee. According to the land registry, the ‘Fischerhaus’ is now owned by Anna, the oligarch’s daughter. The Salzburg Real Estate Transactions Act actually has very strict rules on the sale of real estate to EU foreigners.

Why did the purchase still work? The Greens wanted to know this and asked State Councilor Martin Zauner (FPÖ). The fact is: the state government approved the land transfer for the purchase in October 2007. However, according to Zauner, the file on the procedure has disappeared.

The documents would not be available in paper or electronic form. According to Zauner, reversing the purchase – as fiercely demanded by the Greens – is fundamentally possible. However, you will need the relevant trust deed for this. However, this is not available for the state of Salzburg.
