Lower Austria leads the way in the current research – albeit in a ranking with the highest vacancy rate and the highest loss of retail space. Where a particularly large number of shops are empty and which city defies this ranking.
Pandemic, inflation, real estate crisis – the events of recent years have left a clear mark on the business world. This is evident from a current study by consultancy firm Lage + Markt, which examined retail development and vacancy in 24 shopping streets and 16 selected small towns in Austria. The current figures prove once again that the city centers in Lower Austria are not immune to empty shops.
