Domestic retail giant Spar has been able to expand its market leadership in food retailing in 2023. Boss Hans K. Reisch explains in the big ‘Krone’ interview how the company now wants to grow even further, why they are looking for 2,000 employees and why a number of items are finally becoming cheaper again.
Across all industries, including its foreign subsidiaries, the Austrian Spar Group, which employs more than 90,000 people, achieved a turnover of more than 20 billion euros for the first time last year. Domestically, this amounted to almost ten billion, and in the food trade, Spar increased our turnover by no less than 9.2 percent. In the ‘Krone’ conversation, CEO Hans K.
