Günther Helm successfully led Hofer and Müller. A year ago he ended up in the Middle East. He is now moving from Saudi Arabia to Dubai, where he is responsible for the trading activities of a multi-billion dollar company.
The exit of Saudi Arabia and the Cenomi Group in Riyadh was already a done deal. A high management position at Walmart beckoned. “The suitcases were already packed, the contract was ready,” says Helm. But at the last minute, Lower Austrian-born Günther Helm stayed in the Persian Gulf and decided to move from the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh to Dubai. “It was also about my family, my parents. From Dubai I can reach Vienna or Salzburg in six hours, but in the US it would be a little different,” says Helm.
