After 17 years as state chairman of the Vida union in Burgenland, Erich Mauersics has now handed over the office to 42-year-old Neufelder Berend Tusch. What the plans of the “new man” look like, which “construction sites” he sees in the working world and why something urgently needs to be done for workers in the health sector.
“Kron”: How difficult or easy is it to follow in Erich Mauersics’ footsteps?
Berend Tusch: Following in Erich Mauersics’ footsteps is undoubtedly a great responsibility. Over the past 17 years, he has fought tirelessly for the members of our union and has achieved much. However, there is still much to be done in the coming years, especially in the areas of healthcare, transport and tourism. I am confident that, together with my team, I can continue Erich’s chosen path and vision and effectively represent the interests of our members.
