The next stop sign could already be green – at least in production. The Grafenstein company Itek has found a way to produce all kinds of traffic signs from natural raw materials. Entrepreneur Elke Kaltenhauser reveals what her secret is and what problems there are during her visit to “Krone”.
It started with three critical daughters and the Fridays for Future movement. “The young people have made it clear to me and my husband that we cannot continue like this – I want to be able to look the next generation in the eyes,” says Elke Kaltenhauser, who founded “Itek” in Grafenstein in 2004. and has been producing all kinds of traffic signs for major customers such as Asfinag, ÖBB or municipalities since 2007.
