Preparations are in full swing: in three months the legendary Styrian Ball will take place again, complete with dance, music and regional delicacies. The host region has already been determined – it will contribute to a successful ball evening with floral decorations. If you’re quick, you can get the last early bird tickets now.
It is the start of the Viennese ball season and a flagship event for the green state: on January 10, 2025, the Steirerball will take place again in the Vienna Hofburg. “With our ball we bring Styrian joie de vivre and hospitality to the federal capital,” says Andreas Zakostelsky, President of the Styrian Association in Vienna.
The annual dance casting took place at the Graz Autumn Fair. With success: a group of motivated and talented young dance couples have been selected who will prepare intensively for the performance in the coming weeks. All other preparations are already in full swing.
“And many of our ball-goers also set this pace,” Zakostelsky said. More than 500 guests have already obtained an early bird ticket. But you have to be quick: the offer only runs until October 10 and tickets are limited! Entrance to the Steirerball still costs 98 euros, then 119 euros in advance and 125 euros at the box office. Students pay only 49 euros.
Eastern Styria shows its best side
It was also proudly announced that Eastern Styria will be the host region this year. “Eastern Styria has a lot to offer, from floral decorations to culture and gastronomy,” says Zakostelsky. The affiliated tourist association extends from Joglland via the Wechselland herbal region to Apfelland-Stubenbergsee. Even Styria’s most beautiful flower villages can be found in the region. And the reigning flower princesses are also expected at the ball.
Of course, the right music should not be missing: traditionally there is a big performance at the opening of the ball, later the Koglhofer Plattermädls, among others, will perform – a DJ from Eastern Styria also creates a great atmosphere in the disco. If all the dancing makes you hungry, fortify yourself with pumpkin seed oil egg dish, finely smoked Mulbratl or East Styrian sheep’s cheese. Just a great evening.
