Insolvency proceedings have been opened at the Innsbruck Regional Court against Huber Tirol GmbH, which operates an EU slaughterhouse in St. Johann in Tirol (Kitzbühel district). Credit protection association KSV1870 reported this on Tuesday. 39 employees are affected.
“According to the debtor’s own statement, the amount of outstanding debts is approximately 7.4 million euros,” the credit protection association said.
Reasons for bankruptcy still unclear
There is currently no verified information available on the reasons for this bankruptcy. “We will investigate these causes in collaboration with the bankruptcy administration. The request for the opening of insolvency was submitted by the debtor to the court,” the report continues.
Is it possible for the company to survive?
A decision must be made as soon as possible on whether the company, founded in 1999, will continue. “It remains to be seen whether the debtor is able to demonstrate in an understandable manner that a continuation can be on economically solid grounds,” according to the KSV1870. 39 employees are affected.
