The price increases in stores limit the purchasing desire of Austrians. A third of respondents plan to spend significantly less on gifts, and Christmas dinner is likely to be more modest for many. The budget for gifts for most people is between 100 and 499 euros. But it’s not just donations that are being saved; the willingness to donate also suffers: more than half of those surveyed said they would refrain from donating this year.
