Army wants employees – KTM employees will get their salaries before Christmas

Date:

The employees of the bankrupt motorcycle manufacturer KTM should receive their December salary before Christmas, around December 18 and 19. And workers should receive 75 percent of their take-home pay by the end of this week. Meanwhile, the federal army is recruiting laid-off workers.

When it comes to their wages, the employees of the bankrupt motorcycle manufacturer KTM should at least have some more clarity, reports ‘ORF Oberösterreich’. According to the Chamber of Labor, employees will receive their December salary around December 18 and 19. And workers will be paid 75 percent of their net wages at the end of this week. As reported, it was already clear that the December salaries had to be paid definitively before Christmas.

The armed forces are competing for personnel
It is known that at least 750 employees will soon be laid off at the company in Mattighofen. However, new professional opportunities are already opening up for those affected: the armed forces are recruiting the employees of the bankrupt motorcycle manufacturer.

“The antennae are already out”
Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP) spoke about personnel problems in her department on the sidelines of a troop visit to Kosovo. The “sad economic development” where companies are now having to lay off workers before Christmas “is also a possibility for us, and our Army Personnel Office has already put out feelers.”

Something similar had already happened during the first bankruptcy proceedings of the furniture chain kikaLeiner. “Now it’s our turn, and also when it comes to KTM.” There are a lot of technically skilled workers here, Tanner says.
