A new study shows that studying medicine is usually more financially rewarding than studying business administration: the IHS Institute has now further investigated how much doctors in Austria actually earn. General practitioners, pediatricians, orthopedists, internists, radiologists, etc. – who has the highest income?
The research by the Institute for Advanced Studies shows: In Austria, a ‘typical’ doctor has a very high income. IHS health economist Thomas Czypionka has now determined how much is left per year for statutory health insurers and how much for elective doctors, after deducting all costs. These are amounts that average workers and employees can only dream of. The IHS also investigated which doctors – general practitioners, orthopedic surgeons, internists, etc. – earn the best.
