Two longtime confidantes of the busy financial juggler secured the pieces at auction.
When the “Krone” last week published the photo document showing Austria’s most famous bankrupt happily sailing around Lake Garda in a sports boat in August 2024, even the down-to-earth curator Andreas Grabenweger was overwhelmed:
“That must have been clear to everyone involved from the moment the bankruptcy was declared (early March 2024, note) “The boat could no longer be put into use,” Benko’s court-appointed financial guardian explained. And: The incident at Lake Garda is an “indication that the debtor’s willingness to cooperate is not present to the extent that I have been repeatedly assured.”
