In Italy, anti-mafia prosecutors René Benko and Co. are investigating. on charges of forming a criminal organization. Now the events also have an impact on the staffing of the Benko Foundations.
The reason for this is the extensive investigations by the Public Prosecution Service in Trento, which has been intensively involved with the Austrian financial juggler René Benko and his Italian accomplices since 2019. Benko and his alleged accomplices vehemently deny all allegations and are presumed innocent.
Movement in Benko foundations
Now there is movement in the Benko foundations, where the last assets of the real estate speculator are stored: with Thomas Limberger and Robert Schimanko, two illustrious managers play a key role in the shadowy empire of the country’s most famous bankrupt:
Limberger will join the board of the Laura Private Foundation with immediate effect. Since November, Schimanko has held a seat on the board of directors of the INGBE Foundation, which is named after Benko’s mother Ingeborg, a retired kindergarten teacher.
Companions of nightclub owner Ronny Pecik
Limberger and Schimanko are long-standing business partners who operate mainly from Switzerland. Both are considered associates of busy nightclub owner Ronny Pecik, who previously invested in Swiss company Oerlikon. Limbacher once served as CEO of Oerlikon, while Schimanko in turn was considered Pecik’s deputy there, according to media reports.
Benko, Pecik, Hager and Schimanko have known each other for many years. This is evident from an email from 2008 that is available to “Krone” and “News”. We had agreed to meet in Zurich at the time. Schimanko also shares a passion for horses with bankrupt billionaire Benko. He was also the one who made contact with Hyatt’s European boss. Ultimately, Benkos Signa was able to develop the hotel project in Vienna.
