Out of necessity – Companies in Upper Austria are now fishing for employees in Vienna

Date:

Because the search for employees in Upper Austria is failing for more and more companies, they flee to the front. Locations in Vienna are especially popular.

The Icon Vienna, Tower 17: This will soon be the address of Dynatrace in Vienna. After the software manufacturer’s first laboratory not far from the central station became too small, the moving boxes will soon be packed. Dynatrace will move into new offices on approximately 6,300 square meters, creating space for up to 400 software developers. “Vienna plays a key role in our growth strategy,” emphasizes founder and head of technology Bernd Greifeneder.

Dynatrace quickly felt at home in Vienna: the company, founded in Linz, only set up its tents in Vienna at the beginning of 2020 and can now no longer do without the federal capital. And the company is not alone in this. Because: for more and more Upper Austrian companies, Vienna is becoming the city of good hope when it comes to new employees.

In February of the previous year, Greiner AG opened a branch in Vienna. The goal: The global reputation of the metropolis should help inspire the international forces for the plastics processor from the Kremstal. This also requires the use of the potential of the Viennese labor market. The move was worth it – so much so that additional space is being rented.

Innviertler now also plays trump barrels more often
While systems manufacturer Stiwa with its software division and ekey, the Linz-based manufacturer of biometric access solutions, is still new in the capital, FACC has been home not far from Vienna airport for 21 years. Where possible, the aircraft supplier from the Innviertel plays the trump card. “We are increasingly offering the opportunity to work at our Vienna location when new vacancies arise,” reveals CEO Robert Machtlinger.
