The police were able to stop a suspected drug lord, who was apparently very big in business in East Tyrol and also in Carinthia. During a search, drugs, tens of thousands of euros in cash, jewelry and weapons were seized. The suspect is being held in Innsbruck.
It was witness statements that led the investigators in April to the track of the 34-year-old East Tyrolean. The suspicion that the local was big in the drug trade was soon confirmed. “During an orderly search more than 250 grams of cocaine, more than 350 grams of cannabis flowers, almost 70,000 euros in cash, other jewelry and valuables worth more than 10,000 euros and other banned addictive substances in small quantities were seized,” the police said.
Weapons also seized
In addition, three long guns and ammunition were seized. “A temporary firearms ban has been issued against the man.” Closer investigation eventually revealed that the suspect allegedly distributed cocaine and cannabis “in large quantities” in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia.
The 34-year-old was arrested and taken to Innsbruck Prison.
