Martin Wäg is a friend of clear words. In the “Krone” interview, the boss of Kastner & Öhler calls on politicians to finally take up the fight against vacancy in the city center of Graz.
The Kastner is undoubtedly the flagship of Graz’s inner city trade. The ongoing crisis since the pandemic has not left the traditional department store (founded in 1873!) unscathed. With great effort they tried to turn the tide and now hope to sail into calmer seas again. But the current situation in the old town, with many empty shops and closures of traditional companies such as the recent Sacher, also weighs on Kastner’s mood. Board member Martin Wäg is finally calling on the city council to take action.
