A trade era ends: after the bankruptcy of the KiKa/Leiner -furniture chain, the last remaining branches close, including the traditional Leiner location in Grazer Annenstrasse, today. A final local inspection shows that there is not much to be available for Schäppchenjäger.
It was made wide and straight in the 19th century, led from the newly built train station to the center of Graz and even turned into the third largest shopping street in Austria in the 1970s. These heyday have long been history, Annenstrasse is one of the problem children of the capital. With that for the Leiner, which unlocked in the Golden Age in 1971, the problems of the former number one store mile are not smaller.
