The European Central Bank (ECB) reduced the leading interest rate again by 0.25 to 2.75 percent on Thursday. Although Häuselbauer can be happy because their (variable) loan becomes cheaper, our savings books must adapt to less yield. The “Kroon” looked around where there is currently still attractive interest.
To combat high inflation in mid -2022, the ECB heralded the end of the zero interest rate policy and began to enormously increase the most important interest rates. In a short time it went up to 4.5 percent – which caused many people in trouble with continuous, variable real estate financing (keyword houses loan loan). From June 2024 it will go down again. The ECB reduced by 2.75 percent on Thursday.
