In an interview with entrepreneurs and representatives of the Mussiaad organization it can be seen: Turkish business in Austria is growing rapidly and is now stronger than ever. During an international meeting in Vienna, the future, integration and e-mobility were discussed.
270,000 people with Turkish roots live today in Austria – many of them have long been successful entrepreneurs. And this is exactly what met in Vienna: the Mussiad organization, a worldwide network for business people with a Turkish background, invited to the large network meeting. In Austria alone, there are more than 130 members and there are more than 140,000 worldwide – from Europe to the Balkans. The goal: exchange ideas, start new cooperation and build up a strong, international coexistence. “Such events are essential for new business relationships – and for real friendships,” emphasizes Mario Lehner, director of NCT Nanoprojekt.
Renowned business representatives from all over the world
Also representatives of innovative companies such as the e-car manufacturer BYD. Because e-mobility has long been a problem in migrant communities-especially if it remains affordable. “We offer fully electric cars for the price of a burner,” says BYD representative Dzihic, who explains: “The Turkish community is one of the largest in the country-it is clear that we also want to be present here.” The new work in Turkey is expected to deliver first vehicles to Austria in 2026.
Another subject of the meeting: integration. Many of the successful entrepreneurs come from families who have been living in Austria for generations. German has long been daily life, many emphasize. “In the past you could say: 80 percent speak Turkish, 20 percent German – today it is more the other way around,” says entrepreneur Adnan Ünlü proudly.
