According to surveys, traveling the Austrians remains high. About a quarter (28 percent) travel on the Pentecost weekend. Most holidaymakers remain in Germany (63 percent), in the midsummer it often goes in the distance.
According to the Repptera Survey, popular travel destinations at Pentecost are Salzburg, Carinthia and Lower Austria. The respondents have planned city travel, walks and spa break. Almost two -thirds (63 percent) of the 1,000 respondents remain domestic.
During the summer holidays between June and September it is only a third (35 percent). The most searched destinations are in Europe, with the bathing of holidays (17 percent) particularly popular. This is followed by stay in the mountains (twelve percent) and in the country (eleven percent), as can be seen in another study by Allianz Partners (also less than 1000 people). In general, 74 percent want to take a summer vacation. On the other hand, 23 percent prefer different travel times.
Saving is stored in other places
Summer vacation is important for many people in Austria. More than half of the respondents (53 percent) shorten the spending in leisure time, for example for visits to restaurant and culture, to finance it. Half shifts larger purchases such as a new car or renovations.
The Austrians studied spend an average of 2622 euros per budget. This is a slight increase compared to the previous year (2421 euros). In Europe, more people only invest people in Great Britain and Switzerland.
Many are about relaxation and new impressions. About three -quarters of the respondents (73 percent) are important to support the local community at the holiday destination with their expenses. In the election of the travel destination, environmental risks and geopolitical crises are now flowing.
