If you want to quickly take advantage of the energy voucher of 150 euros from the government, you have to take one thing into account: you only receive the money during the annual settlement when the energy supplier reads the electricity. If this is already over and you haven’t turned in yet, you’ll have to wait until next year.
The government has sent four million vouchers to households, 1.5 million have already used them and 1.1 million have been redeemed online. At 320,000 euros, the 150 euros had already been earned with the statement, according to the Ministry of Finance. 90 to 100 percent is expected to be submitted by the end of October.
There was criticism in advance that probably 40 percent of people can only redeem the bonus in 2023 because the annual statement has already been done this year. Technical problems with the online input also caused problems.
You can submit the voucher online at energiekostenvergleich.gv.at. Anyone who has not received anything or has lost the voucher can also request it by telephone on 050 233 798 no later than 31 August.
