A long era ended in Nußbach. The lights went out in the store in 1903 in the center of the community. Four generations of the Refiger Storfer family led the market. The traditional company has also been known since 1948 for its own “Nut Spirit” and the “Spice Mixtures”.
Nussbach’s refusal storage shop is much beyond the municipal borders. After her parents, Johann and Anna Refiger Storfer opened the General Store in the center of the city in 1903 and provided the population the necessary life and household articles, Daughter Maria refuser Storfer experimented on the recipes for the “Special Nussbacher Nut Spirit” and for the “Special Nussbacher Spice mixtures”.
Created the second mainstay
In 1948 the “home remedy for stomach tower” and the herb mixtures were manually filled and offered for sale. This developed a second, important mainstay for the family business.
The successor is being sought
Two more generations continued the traditional house. Now the company is closed after 122 years. The search for a successor to the only department store with 2300 inhabitants is still active. At present, the Nussbacher has to go to the adjacent community of Schlierbach for their purchases.
