Although many experts call for an increase in the legal retirement age with a view to demographic development, Minister of Social Affairs Korinna Schumann is in the ZIB-2 interview. An increase helps nothing without the jobs for the elderly.
“It does not help to emphasize the age of retirement age without we being able to guarantee that there is work,” says Corinna Schumann Minister of Social Affairs. “We just increase the retirement age – that doesn’t help at all. Sustainability mechanism would work from 2030
If the costs for the pension system get out of hand, the government has announced that it has a “sustainability mechanism” legally: in 2030 the next government would have to decide on measures to keep the pension system financially. In theory, the increase in retirement age would also be conceivable as a measure.
But Schumann hopes that it will not get that far and that the sustainability mechanism will never be defeated “because we meet our cost -damp”. After all, the Triple Coalition wants to combat a bundle of measures: difficult access to the gang pension, restrictions on partial pension and the new partial pension must ensure that they get the costs under control.
Only half a pension increase for anyone who will retire this year
Moreover, everyone who retires in a certain year receives only half a pension increase during the start of the year. What also helps is the gradual increase in retirement age to 65 years to 2033.
The Minister of Social Affairs hopes that the partial council that can retire from 2026 (including the Corridor Board) hopes that it will be partial. According to Schumann, the model is suitable for people who say: “For example, I no longer create the entire working week, but for example three days. It is focused on that.”
Schumann hopes for 10,000 people who will be a partial pension
Schumann hopes that around 10,000 people will participate in partial pension and will continue to work annually. The advantage for the government: anyone who goes to a partial council is not really considered a pensioner in statistics, who increases the actual retirement age. The model is therefore also a statistical trick that will improve the balance of the Ministry of Social Affairs at the age of retirement.
Moderator Armin Wolf then responded to the restrictions on partial retirement – as is known, this is gradually shortened from the moment that the pension took place to just three years in 2029. This model is currently very expensive for the AMS, which Grant takes over.
