Two Americans were injured at the last bull run of this year’s Sanfermín festival in Spain. They had to be taken to a hospital. This year this year found a total of 40 people – a maximum of 2020.
Six people had to be treated in hospitals because of the animals’ horn bins. The 68-year-old American suffered a traumatic brain trauma with nose bleeds at the end of the bullrun, the 63-year-old American was kicked by a bull on her back and suffered a back dream. The age of the two is unusual because mostly younger men venture to the long distance of 800 meters. Six Fighter Bulls, which are approximately 600 kilograms, are driven to the bullfighting Arena -Pamplonas in addition to different tame oxen.
The focus is also on the bull that runs in the early morning. The average of around 2000 people participate in each run. Many try to walk next to the bulls and, if possible, touch them on the horns or on the back.
The Bull Run has been around since the end of the 16th century, and it is always celebrated in the first half of July. Dozens of participants are injured every year. There have been 16 fatalities since 1924, the last in 2009. The bulls almost always die, in the evening in the Arena by the hand of a Toreros.
