In a pertinent fact passed on to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), Mediaset reported that at its November 8 meeting, the board of directors “unanimous” approved the candidates to succeed Vasile, choosing three names. who are familiar with the ins and outs of the large audiovisual conglomerate to ensure “an orderly, effective transition that meets the highest expectations”, committing a certain continuity from 1 January 2023.

Notably, the new CEO will be Alessandro Salem and Mediaset has emphasized his “extensive experience”, both in the editorial field, as the current general director of content of Rete Televisive Italiane (RTI), and in advertising, given his move. by Publitalia ’80 and later by Publiespaña, of which he was General Manager and CEO.

In addition, the group also approved the appointment of Massimo Musolino as CEO of the company, responsible for the management and operational areas, over which he held the position of general manager, “to ensure full continuity in the management of the company. and its group of companies,” emphasizes Mediaset.

In this sense, the Board of Directors has strengthened the executive powers of the current President of Mediaset, Borja Prado, who has been in office since April after the replacement of Alejandro Echevarría. In particular, the Italian will assume executive powers in the areas of external and institutional relations, legal and regulatory affairs, internal audit, regulatory compliance and social responsibility, which will fall under the Corporate General Manager, Mario Rodríguez, who will report directly to Prado, who is appointed as deputy to the chairman.

In approving Mediaset’s new management team, it also emphasizes that from now on, the company’s president will have power over “the work of supporting and collaborating with the editorial line of news programs.” With these changes, the group completes the renewal of its leadership with the recent appointment of Stefano Sala as CEO of Publiespaña.
