Eamonn Holmes shared a favorite photo about a year after he became his grandfather.
The Belfast-born broadcaster was thinking about her new family dynamics when she took to Instagram to celebrate her eldest son Declan’s 33rd birthday.
Eamonn shared two photos: one showing Declan holding his hand as a child and the other showing Declan with his son Emilia.
He wrote in the caption: “33 years ago it was my first birth. Now he also knows the responsibility of being a father. Happy December in December. I am so proud of you son.”
The host’s heartfelt message was followed by a reaction from friends and fans, with wife Ruth Langsford adding, “You can just imagine this day… and that’s it!”
In the comments section of the post, one of the members replied, “Honestly, Emilia is the most beautiful little girl! The joy in Dick’s eyes also shines through.” Another wrote: “Oh, that’s a double reception. What a precious x moment.”
Eamonn first became a grandfather in July 2021, after giving birth to his son Declan Emilia with wife Jenny.
The 62-year-old is the father of four children, three of whom were married to his first wife, Gabriella, from 1985 to 1994.
Eamonn and his wife, Ruth Langsford, had their son Jack in 2002. The couple married in June 2010 at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.
Speaking to Alan Techmarsh on Love Your Weekend last month, he explained how he was “so proud” to have eldest son Declan after his birth.
He said: I [a grandfather] In fact, my son Declan and his wife Jenny had a baby girl who is the most beautiful girl and I didn’t think I was ready because I never thought about grandparents.
“I’m really proud of my son, my eldest son… He’s my baby and I look at what he’s been done for and what a man he is now with his son. It’s a beautiful bond. I’m so proud.”
