The Fundación Cajamurcia donated the proceeds of the New Year’s benefit concerts performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, in Murcia and Cartagena, amounting to 18,432 euros, to social organizations. Thanks to the generosity of Cartagena and Murcia, who sold out the tickets, the Cajamurcia Foundation raised 9,216 euros for each association; the Sacred and Royal Hospital of Charity of Cartagena and the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer Patients (AFAMUR).
The performance of the Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra was part of the ‘Christmas with Fundacion Cajamurcia’ cycle, which has included a New Year’s concert for charity in its programming for more than two decades. The Santo y Real Hospital de la Caridad de Cartagena fulfills a very important task among people in need and with limited resources. It is responsible for conducting an initial medical assessment to determine the clinical situation and treatment, maintenance and medication needs of patients with limited financial resources and no family support network.
AFAMUR’s goal is to provide integrated care through direct care to the elderly with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, as well as to their families.
