Mediaset acquires the rights to the Kings and Queens League

Date:

Mediaset España has decided to join the new sports formula that is raging among the youngest viewers: the Kings and the Queens League. To that end, the television group announced on Wednesday an agreement with Kosmos – the company founded and led by Gerard Piqué – to acquire the rights to broadcast the second male season and the first female season which kicks off this weekend. A format that includes the collaboration of the popular streamer Ibai Llanos, which consists of a competition with twelve teams led by content creators and former footballers such as DjMaRiiO, TheGrefg, Adri Contreras – current champion of the competition with El Barrio -, Iker Casillas or Kun Aguero. So far, the matches have only been broadcast on Twitch. Thanks to this new agreement, Mediaset will broadcast live on Cuatro (20:00) the most attractive match on Saturday and Sunday in both leagues. In addition, according to the current format, it will participate in some of the most famous youtubers and streamers in Spain. The agreement across both competitions includes the release of day and best moments summaries of Chup Chup and After’s pre-match and post-match programs. “At Mediaset España, we have always chosen the best sporting events,” explains Manuel Villanueva, General Director of Content at Mediaset España. “We are very pleased to announce this agreement. We believe that this union will help the Queens League Oysho and the Kings League InfoJobs reach an ever-increasing audience,” Kosmos President Gerard Piqué emphasizes. The first two matches that Cuatro will broadcast are the PIO FC-Aniquiladoras FC of the Queens League, this Saturday at 8 p.m., and the Porcinos FC-xBuyer Team of the Kings League, this Sunday at the same time.
