The College of Nursing received the Gold Medal “for its invaluable service to the health care system of Murcia since its inception, watching over them in the most dedicated moments of health, always putting their calling above their own integrity”, as indicated in the approval file of this recognition . In his speech from the podium, the mayor emphasized “the perseverance and affection with which they have treated us” from the infirmary.

Likewise, the President of the College, Manuel García Sánchez, pointed out that “it is a source of pride that this beautiful city pays tribute to the nursing community, a fundamental pillar of health and a measure of care, consideration and assistance to our citizens”. He recalled that “it has been a very tough few months for health professionals and health center staff in general, and nurses in particular, because of their proximity to the patient, making them always the first line of care”.

“However, and as is typical of our profession, nursing stood and continues to be at the foot of the chasm, helping and protecting people, carrying out its work with the dedication and dedication that characterize it. With this recognition, we feel even more loved and appreciated by the citizens and that the predominant role our nurses have in Murcian society is known,” said the President of the College of Nursing, after expressing his thanks to all those present on behalf of the nursing in Murcia.

Among those invited to the event was the President of the Nursing College of Alicante, Montserrat Angulo, with whom the College of Murcia wishes to share this distinction, because of the twinning that exists between the two institutions.
