“Complicated times are coming and you have to work hard to get excited”

Date:

Host the second edition of ‘I see how you sing’, Antena 3’s Friday Night Summer Bet

Presenter Manel Fuentes (Barcelona, 51 years old) returns to Antena 3’s prime time with the premiere of the second edition of “I see how you sing” (10:00 p.m.), the Spanish adaptation of a Southern Korean contest where participants have to guess whether the mysterious singers are good or bad singers without hearing them sing.

In the new season, Ruth Lorenzo, Josie and the Monaguillo repeat themselves as advisors to the contestants and Chenoa is the first guest this week. Meanwhile, Fuentes is already working on the tenth edition of ‘Your face sounds to me’, which will also celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2023.

– It’s an Antena 3 bet for the summer, when it looked like the TV would be closing in August.

-I think it’s great that Antena 3 does the rest, so that in a summer that is complicated for many people and when bad omens reach us, they bet on a family entertainment program and an aperitif of ‘Your face sounds to me’ that it will come later. In addition, it serves so that anonymous participants can take money that comes in handy. It’s a format that I think will refresh the audience at home and you can play to find out if that person is singing good or bad, based on very few clues. I insist, it is a game for the whole family and to play at home.

–What new features will be in the second edition?

–The jokers that existed in the first edition are eliminated, leaving the contestants with fewer clues to make their decisions. There will also be new guests and we will premiere with Chenoa, who I know very well. We hadn’t been able to see each other since their wedding, the largest in Mallorca. It will be a very emotional and emotional premiere, because being with her on set always comes in handy.

– Are there any breaks in the format recording due to fits of laughter?

-Nothing is cut, you will see the laugh attacks in the shot. This year I had more information than in the previous edition. From home everyone will have to be very nice and very attentive.

–Are you good at spotting impostors?

-To tell you the truth, no. The cases in which he had no indication, he also did not know. I make many mistakes. I know the difficulty that is generated in the participants.

– In an intuition format, do you see when a program can be successful or the audience is unpredictable?

–It depends a lot on when the format is planned and what competition it has. At Antena 3, we have always taken care of all the products I have presented. We have given ‘I see how you sing’ a lot of care and a foundation so that there is a solid nest so that later the birds may or may not sing, because there are cheaters, and we have a good level.

–The tenth edition of ‘Your face sounds to me’ has arrived. what is the secret formula?

-The first line for me is that it was an obvious bet, down the chain, for a new format. It is something that is not done, because TV channels normally watch programs from other countries, but ‘Tu cara me sonido’ was born in Spain. It was conceived on a sheet of paper to make it a great show. They are decisions that coincided and that we had to execute to make an exciting, competitive and fun program. That has been the goal. There has also been a refinement of the participants.

–And what expectations are there with the new season?

– It’s ten years. We are going to do the tenth edition of ‘Your face sounds like me’. We are working to make it a very powerful season, one that continues to surprise and retain the public’s affection, which must now be returned. We have to try even harder and throw the rest away. We are going to work hard to make it a really good edition with a round audience.

– Is there a television genre that you would like to play?

–I am passionate about communication at all levels and in all formats, as long as they go well. My involvement in entertainment is absolute. Complicated times are coming and it is best to work hard to create illusion and good mood. We want to take care of that because there are a lot of people waiting for us and we want to be up to the task.

–Some remember you in ‘Who falls’. Is it a good time to bring it back?

-Certainly, but now the most urgent, where I put all my energy, is guiding, caring and making people laugh to generate a pure entertainment show. Anything I can bring out to the public is most welcome. There will be other times to make other formats. What we need to do now is guide people and do our best so that they have a good time.
