Ferry company P&O issued a statement saying it “will not be liquidated.”
However, they emphasized that there was a “statement” to be made. In a brief statement issued Thursday morning, they did not say when the announcement would be made.
The move came amid apparently ongoing problems. The company wrote on Twitter: “Unfortunately, P&O Ferries services will not be able to operate for the next few hours. Our port team will guide you and the cruise will be arranged through an alternative operator.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause to your travel plans.”
Asked to explain what was going on, a spokesperson for P&O Ferries told Belfast Live: “P&O Ferries have no plans to divest. We have asked all ships to come to the side to prepare for the company’s announcement. Until then, P&O services will not operate and we are recommending alternative offerings to travelers. .”
It is known that some customers were waiting for the ferry to arrive in the morning.
