The government has announced that it will lift remaining restrictions on international travel for all travelers in the UK before the Easter holiday.

On Friday 18 March, from 4am, all Covid-19 travel restrictions will be lifted, including the Passenger Tracking Form (PLF) for arrival in the UK, as well as all testing for passengers who have not been vaccinated.

Thus, this change eliminates the need for unvaccinated passengers to undergo testing before departure and after arrival on the second day.

Grant Shapps, Minister for Transport, said: “The UK is leading the way in lifting all Covid-19 travel restrictions around the world, and today’s statement is a testament to the hard work that everyone in this country has done to use the vaccine and protect each other.

“I said we wouldn’t hold our travel arrangements for longer than necessary today, to offer more welcome news and more freedom to travelers before the Easter holidays.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the tourism industry and partners around the world to continue my international journey.”

Due to the current situation of the epidemic and the return to the normal global travel volume, the quarantine capacity of managed hotels will be completely reduced by the end of March.

British Airways CEO Tim Alderslade said: “Today’s announcement sends a clear message to the world: The UK travel industry is back. Travelers returning to the UK are no longer burdened with extra units and testing requirements, we can now expect a normal, pre-packed state throughout The entire travel experience.

“We are grateful for the timing of the announcement as we prepare for the return of passengers at Easter and this summer, which we know is in high demand and the UK leadership has been the first major aviation market to remove all remaining restrictions.

Now is the time to go back to heaven – enjoy all that makes flying and international travel ideal for families and businesses.

In addition, UKHSA will continue to monitor the prevalence and prevalence of harmful variants and closely review international data.

While there will be no health measures at the border upon arrival in the UK from 18 March, other countries are in different stages of the pandemic and many are still asking passengers to comply with the requirements.

Travelers should continue to refer to the GOV.UK Travel Guide, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of Foreign Affairs and Development (FCDO) Travel Guidelines to update entry requirements for other countries.
