Sports director Peter Moizi of ‘Krone’ writes today in ‘Duty to Stop’ about a crazy sports day with countless winners, great emotions and colorful stories. And about the fact that ski flying on the Kulm showed the sport at its best, in the most popular way…
A Sunday in front of the TV. My right thumb itches from all the zapping. The ski ladies from Cortina come for brunch, then we move on to the men’s Super-G in Garmisch, followed by the fourth and fifth sets of the tennis final in Melbourne.
A crazy sports day
After Sunday schnitzel, a detour with the snowboarders and tobogganers, coffee and cake at the Ski Flying World Championships – and in the evening a football snack with Dortmund against Bochum. The eyes are angular, the brain is overloaded. A crazy sports day with countless winners, great emotions and colorful stories.
De Kulm produced the most beautiful photos. Despite the difficult weather conditions at the start, the organizers of the World Ski Flying Championships put on an excellent show. Thousands of fans, a peaceful party atmosphere, an enthusiastic reader community in our “Krone” village and the sporting successes of Stefan Kraft & Co., which put the “crown” on the successful event.
“This is how sport should be!”
“An unforgettable weekend,” beamed “Krone” director Gerhard Valeskini after his Kulm visit to Ski Austria president Roswitha Stadlober and jumping legend Ernst Vettori, “this is how sport should be!”
The Kulm appeals at all levels. Athletes, spectators, sponsors, journalists and organizers are enthusiastic. Because unlike other major events, this World Cup never seems distant, the athletes are close to the people, the prices are affordable and the experience factor is high. Red-white-red successes taste even better…
