Presidential Election – Rosary: ”Absolutely” in the second round

Date:

FPÖ presidential candidate Walter Rosenkranz sees himself “certainly” in the second round, despite a survey published Saturday that gave him just 13 percent. Rosenkranz emphasized at a joint press conference with Tyrolean FPÖ leader Markus Abwerzger in Innsbruck that the investigation was “not disappointing, but an incentive”. He also expected a “brilliant result” in the second vote.

“Surveys never disappoint me, they are a snapshot,” Rosenkranz said of the survey result: “I will keep fighting.” According to a survey for the news magazine “profil” and the television station ATV, incumbent Alexander Van der Bellen can count with 66 percent of the vote.

However, Unique Research’s research, scientifically led by Peter Hajek, yielded Rosencrantz only 13 percent, comfortably in second place.

“Similar to football”
The point is that “Van der Bellen will not get 50 percent plus one vote,” said Ombudsman Rosenkranz. “Anyone who finishes a piece of the mosaic is welcome.” He does expect that he will be in “second place” – “albeit at a distance” from Van der Bellen. It was “similar to football”, the blue presidential candidate drew a comparison.

You are currently in the “group stage”, which will be followed by the “final”. In any case, he expects a “brilliant result”, because in a second round of voting he could reach the “whole spectrum of voters who are not satisfied with Van der Bellen”.

Not intimidated by competitors
There are some competitors. In any case, Rosenkranz was not intimidated by his competitors – including ex-politician and blogger Gerald Grosz (FPÖ and BZÖ), MFG chairman Michael Brunner and ex-“Krone” columnist Tassilo Wallentin. “Competition is something that can of course be annoying under certain circumstances,” said the FPÖ politician. But he “takes a different view” on “democracy policy”: “It even boosts the election campaign.” In addition, he had “not heard much from the competitors” until now.
