No less than 39 million euros in emergency aid for households in Lower Austria – and that more or less at the push of a button. SPÖ, FPÖ and Neos wanted to do that by repealing the Broadcasting Fees Act and for the compatriots suffering from inflation. But the ÖVP and the Greens have other plans.
Because of the inflation wave, people need to be helped unbureaucratically and accurately. On paper, all parties agree. Opinions differ, however, on the question of how strongly the exculpatory brake should be applied to the compensation. The SPÖ and FPÖ proposed – as the “Krone” reported in July – also scrap the so-called license fee, which the country collects as part of the GIS fee. “That would relieve every household by 70 euros per year”, it is calculated.
