Former world boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko (46) wrote a children’s book about willpower together with Tatjana Kiel. Hamburg-based Oetinger Verlag announced that “Wil, the cloud stormer and the dream of flying” is about an eight-year-old boy who wants to see the clouds from above. On his way to his goal, he is supported by animal friends and his girlfriend Janne and other characters.
Each animal inspires him with his individual strength, so he can overcome obstacles and resistance and achieve his goal through willpower and the courage to make his own decisions.
“Helping children become strong personalities”
“Children have a tremendous thirst for knowledge and we should start giving them things early on that will help them become strong, courageous personalities,” Klitschko said. He always finds it important to pass on his own knowledge. “I’ve always wanted to teach children the skills they need to decide for themselves who they want to be in the future,” says the sports scientist.
Klitschko is Ukrainian, his brother Vitali is the mayor of Kiev. They both started the children’s book project with illustrations by Max Beindorf before the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and decided to continue.
