Sick mother – because of walking aid: access to zoo is refused

Date:

A 31-year-old woman from Enns (Lower Austria) was not allowed to go to the zoo on her e-scooter with a seat.

In February, 31-year-old Gabriele L. from Enns became ill from Corona – despite three vaccinations. To this day she has to deal with the consequences. “I suffer from Long Covid, everything is too exhausting for me. I have been on sick leave since the end of May and bought an e-scooter with a seat so that I can move better because I can only walk short distances,” says the pastry chef. On Tuesday, she wanted to help herself and her two boys (8 and 9 years old). ) happy and planned a trip to the Tierpark Stadt Haag (Lower Austria) with a friend.

Driving prohibited
But the journey was over before it really started. L. did not know that in Tierpark Haag – as published on the website – “riding on bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, tricycles, roller skates, inline skates, skateboards, scooters and the like is prohibited”.

No problem at Zoo Schmiding
“I did not expect it at all, I explained my health condition to them. I did not choose my health situation and just wanted to roll next to my children at walking pace”, the affected person would have wished more sympathy. The excursion was quickly moved to the Schmiding Zoo in Krenglbach, where the walking aid was no problem.
