The firefighters of the region had to divert to a fire in Bärnbach on Friday morning. A dog was injured.
The owner of the house became aware of the fire when he saw smoke coming from the window. He responded quickly and correctly: The 72-year-old smashed the window and extinguished the burning sofa with the garden hose.
The dog of the 19-year-old tenant appears to have inhaled smoke. His master took him to the animal hospital.
The fire brigades Bärnbach, Voitsberg, Piber and Köflach and the Red Cross and the police were present. The National Bureau of Investigation is now investigating the cause of the fire. People were not harmed.
