The President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragoneshas ruled out holding elections for this Friday, has announced that he will appoint the new government ministers in the coming days following Junts’ departure from the executive, and has called on the rest of the formations to take on the task of providing stability : “May the country win”, adding that he will appoint the new ministers in the coming days.
He said it in a performance by the Gòtica gallery of the Palau de la Generalitat, after Junts’ bases decided that the party break the coalition with ERC and leave the government with 55.73% of the votes in the deliberations against the militancy they held between Thursday and this Friday.
Aragonès, who has already started receiving the resignation of the Junts ministers, met this Friday afternoon with his closest team to analyze the scenario starting with a solo ERC government with 33 deputies.
The president of the Generalitat has assured that he intends to continue to rule “out of responsibility” and will seek “complicity” and contact other parliamentary groups. Aragonès has guaranteed that it will fill the vacancies of the Junts ministers in the coming days at “maximum speed”.
