Call to the federal government – affordable real estate: Mikl-Leitner puts pressure on

Date:

The most powerful ÖVP politician flexes her Lower Austrian muscles again. After the demand for energy prices, Johanna Mikl-Leitner sends the following message to Vienna. Again, it’s a precarious problem area: housing. “The best protection against poverty in old age and for the maintenance of prosperity. Ownership creates value,” says the governor.

Because these issues are a burning problem especially for boys and families, she responded and strongly recommends the federal government. This will come in handy given the upcoming elections in early 2023, when she will have to defend the Absolute (her party is on the wane nationwide). The Lower Austrian concept includes lower equity thresholds.

Country assumes 5% of loan obligations
The new guideline of the FMA, the so-called “Credit Scheme Measures for Real Estate Financing” (KIM), which prescribes 20% of the equity capital, leads to inflation, rising interest rates and higher construction costs. “Many people are being deprived of the opportunity to own their own home.” Lower Austria assumes 5% of the liability.

Mikl-Leitner assumes that the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (FMA) will reconsider the guidelines that came into effect on August 1. Negotiations are underway. She then turns to Minister of Finance and fellow party member Magnus Brunner. Your appeal must be re-examined.
