The FPÖ wants a referendum on refugees.
Party leader Herbert Kickl called on the chancellor on Sunday to hold a referendum.
If Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) is afraid of the EU and his coalition partner, he must gain popular support for the fight against illegal immigration and asylum abuse and for an asylum ban, real border protection and uncompromising deportations via referendum.
“We must now build our own ‘Fortress Austria’ against illegal immigration and asylum abuse,” Kickl says. That requires restrictive and decisive measures, even if the EU does not like it.
